Friday was a key day for the financial markets. Not only did the DOW fall almost 400 points and break the back of the bear market rally that began in March, but oil, bonds, and currencies also made important moves. I don't want to say it was a pivotal day for the markets. The true pivotal time came back in October when the last bull market cycle came to an end.

Part 1 - Summary

As I write this it is almost 2:00 PM EST and the DOW is down nearly 300 points. It is very rare to see the DOW close down over 300 points so I'm not so sure that it will much further today. But it is clear that the bear market is continuing. The level to watch is 1370 on the S&P 500.

Today I discuss the causes for the current stock market decline and when it is likely to end. This is part three of my five part series on the current bear market. I'll be posting the next part in a couple of days.

Over the weekend I sat down and filmed a five part series on the bear market. I believe we just saw the market top last week and are now at a very critical juncture. A lot of times nothing really important is happening in the market, but then there are times that demand your focus. This is one of them.

The DOW fell almost 200 points yesterday. The rally is starting to look shaky. Last week I made some bets against the market and it looks like they are going to pay off. We could chop around for a few days, but once the market goes through yesterday's lows I will take that as confirmation that the bear market rally that started March 17th is over.
