Is the market going up or down? That is the question everyone wants to answer right now. They want to know if their losses are going to come to an end. People are incredibly anxious and nervous right now. I know, because I realized last week that they were making me nervous even though I have been in cash for weeks now.

Dave Skarica and I just posted a podcast in which we discussed Thursday's market rally and the potential double bottom in the market when looked at through technical analysis.

I made the video below late last night, didn't have time to get lighting together or make a big production of it. I wanted to just talk with you one on one about the market and didn't want to wait. Yesterday the DOW fell over 700 points again to post its biggest percentage loss since the 1987 stock market crash. It appears headed for a retest of the recent lows. I hope they hold.

We've had a huge increase in traffic to this website in the past two weeks and that has slowed it down during peak times of the day. I am working on upgrading the servers and to make some database changes to the site to make it faster. The traffic was due to the interest in our opening members only part of the site to 300 new people on October 1st and of course the stock market meltdown.

Here comes the crash. I've been bearish on the stock market for over a year now. I've made a lot of money this year short-selling the stock market twice. A few times I went long and got stopped out.

Yesterday once again the stock market fell - this time going through the lows set on Monday. There is still no sign of a bottom.

We just had the summer rally. You may have missed it, but the S&P 500 managed to finish the month of August up a whopping 1.1% while the Nasdaq ended with a gain of 1.8%. You might detect some sarcasm here and there is a bit. You see despite the lack of conviction in the market action many people are calling for a new bull market in the financial media and on TV.

So you want to make money in the stock market. To do that you have to have a method. There are three basic investing methods that successful investors use to make money.
