He also said is out of gold, but will buy back in if it goes through 1000 - which I think it can really do.

A proposed merger between Xstrata and Anglo American came to an end yesterday. Xstrata put the deal on the table and offered it to Anglo, but the latter company turned down the offer. It did so under heat from Africa.

Yesterday on CNBC famed stock trader Jim Rogers recommended hard assets and gold. He fears a currency collapse in the value of the US dollar or British pound. He is afraid to short US stocks now, because believes a hyperinflation nightmare could make the stock market skyrocket in comparison to worthless dollars.

Today in an article posted on his website Bill Gross says that US investors should begin to diversify out of dollars before central banks do so - something he sees happening a few years down the road.
