The US Congressional Elections and the Stock Market - Mike Swanson (11/02/10)

After the opening bell this morning the stock market opened higher with the DOW moving up 72 points as I write this. This has been one of the most talked about days of the past few months, because it is the day of US Congressional elections.

Talking heads have been predicting big Republican gains and a split Federal government after the day is over. Many Republicans are hoping that the new Congress will be able to roll back some of Obama's initiatives and work to prevent tax increases.

Many have talked that Republican wins will make the stock market go up, but it seems that the stock market has in fact rallied INTO the election and tomorrow is the big Federal Reserve FOMC QE day too.

Dave Skarica and I talk about the elections and their possible impact on the financial markets for the long-term.

I highly recommend that you buy and read The Great Supercycle. Historians have called the twentieth century the American century and all an investor had to do was buy US stocks, sit on them, and get rich. In a changing world with the rise of emerging markets, and a less attractive US dollar, investors now have to think outside the box to make money. Global cycles expert Dave Skarica provides the road map to doing just that in this exciting book.
