Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) to Build New Electric Car

Today Tesla Motors announced that it is planning to produce RAV4 prototype electric cards this year. The production of these cars is a partnership with Toyota, which issued a press release in May stating that it is going to invest $50 million in Tesla Motors.

Tesla Motors completed a public offering earlier this year and started traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange on June 29, 2010 under the symbol TSLA.

Tesla currently makes the Tesla Roadster, a two-seater sports car powered with electricity that sells for over $100,000.

In plans to produce a sedan that will sit 7 people in 2012 in California, in a plant that had been operating by Toyota and GM before GM went bankrupt.

Tesla has a great corporate name as it is named after Nikola Tesla, a famous invented of the first half of the twentieth century, who was known as one of the greatest electrical engineers in America whose worked is the basis of the AC electric power system and AC motors.
