Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE: TM) announced that it is going to recall some Lexus models that were made in Japan after revealing that some of its engines may have defective valves in them that could cause them to stall.
The recall amounts to as many as 270,000 vehicles sold across the world.
In April Toyota also recalled 13,000 Lexus GX and 460 sport utility vehicles after Consumer Reports said that they could roll over and be a “safety risk” for drivers and passengers alike. The company has recalled 8.5 million vehicles in the past ten months.
About 90,000 vehicles in Japan and 137,000 vehicles in the US may be impacted by this announcement.
The models involved in this include the GS 350, GS 450h, GS 460, IS 350, LS 460, LS 600h, LS 600h L, and the Toyota Crown.
